I’ve heard of the sad story from my friends, but I didn’t know the details. Just got a chance to research a little bit, and my heart broke…
For those you don’t know yet, here’s the clip of the news:

I was overwhelmed when I learned that earlier on that day, they just celebrated for Emily Chapman’s engagement and later Caleb Chapman’s high school graduation. I wonder how painful it could be for this family, especially for the brother who hit her. As I read the online news and checked out some of the clips in remembrance of Maria Sue Chapman, I still couldn’t figure out how this family handled this… In Maria’s memorial service, the Chapmans, though with grief, laughed and cried and celebrated her return to the Lord. I still… couldn’t understand how and why they could do that.
Later, I figured (maybe it was God) this was the way God used this family. Life and death is such a common and normal process that one encounters. Maria’s life was short, but her life had revealed how God led this family to what it is today. This is what I found on a website:

The last line sort of spoke to me….. Her life was a testimony of this child adoption, and her death was never a waste, appealing to the whole world about this meaningful adoption. And I seriously think that the Chapmans exemplify a beautiful Christian family, not perfect as in our eyes, but knowing God’s grace has been upon them.
To share with you, I include this clip. Actually Steven Curtis Chapman wrote this song Cinderella for his youngest daughters years ago, and the following link is the song and the story behind it. Please do check it out if you are interested in this sweet and inspiring sharing.

And, this is the clip using the song Cinderella as the background music, and Maria’s photos and video clip.
*** Out of my curiosity, I searched this news on google.tw since I wonder if there’s anything in Chinese. But gosh, I am so ashamed with those Chinese reporters. They didn’t write much but put a lot of emphasis on Chapman’s son 闖禍了… Let me use Chinese to express my rage.
